God Reaffirms His Covenant with Abram
In Genesis 17:1-8, God appears to a 99-year-old Abram, reaffirming His covenant by declaring Himself "God Almighty," demanding Abram walk blamelessly, and expanding His promises: Abram will become the "father of many nations," his name changed to Abraham, and his descendants will inherit the land of Canaan as an everlasting possession, establishing a permanent covenant where God promises to be their God, solidifying the promise of numerous descendants, kings, and land as an eternal bond.
