God Humbles the Proud

All sin is rebellion against God, but the sin of pride may be the greatest sin, because it elevates self over God. From the Bible, and perhaps our own personal experiences, we know that God is opposed to the proud and "gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6). This Sunday we'll look at prideful, arrogant, king Nebuchadnezzar, who God humbled, and the lessons we learn from it.

The book of Daniel is monumental in its scope of importance to the revelation of God and his working in human history. It is also a book of practicality on how the righteous can not only live, but thrive, and endure in a pagan culture by God's help.  Despite the tumultuous situation Daniel found himself in at an early age, the Lord was with him, working in the chaos to accomplish his purposes for Daniel, his people, and the nations.
