Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene

John 20:11-18 describes Mary Magdalene's encounter with the resurrected Jesus outside the empty tomb, a powerful moment where her grief and search turn to joyous recognition and mission; after weeping and mistaking Jesus for the gardener, she finally recognizes Him when He calls her name, prompting her to proclaim to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord!," marking her transformation from a mourner to the first witness of the resurrection.

The Gospel of John is about revealing Jesus as the divine Son of God, the promised Messiah, who offers eternal life to all who believe in Him, emphasizing His deity through powerful "signs" (miracles) and "I AM" statements, contrasting light with darkness, and focusing on Jesus as the Word made flesh, explaining God's will and love for humanity to foster faith and a deeper relationship with God.
