God Permanently Settles the Land Dispute

In the Book of Genesis, God permanently settles a land dispute by making an unconditional and eternal covenant with Abram (later Abraham). After Abram generously allowed his nephew Lot to choose the more fertile Jordan Valley to avoid conflict between their growing number of herdsmen, the Lord appeared to Abram and instructed him to look in every direction. God promised to give Abram and his descendants all the land he could see, from the river of Egypt to the great river Euphrates, as a permanent possession forever.
