God Promises Abram a Son
In Genesis, God promises Abram (later Abraham) a son, stressing that a child of his own flesh and blood, not a servant, would be his heir, a promise initially met with doubt due to Abram and his wife Sarah's old age, yet confirmed with the instruction to look at the countless stars as a sign of his numerous descendants, culminating in the miraculous birth of Isaac, the son through whom the covenant would be established.
