Introducing Abram
Genesis introduces Abram as a man from Ur, called by God at age 75 to leave his homeland, family, and father's house to journey to an unknown land God would show him, promising to make him a great nation, bless him, make his name great, and bless all peoples through him, a call Abram answered by taking his wife Sarai, nephew Lot, and possessions to Canaan, marking the beginning of a new covenant of faith and promise.
