The Prophesied King
In this section Matthew continues to lay out the evidence for Jesus being Israel's Messiah. Already Matthew has announced through Jesus' genealogy how he is the Son of David, and the Son Abraham. Not only that, he's the son of God, as was alluded to in his genealogy and with the fulfillment of Isaiah 7:14. On top of this, Matthew's provided the evidence for the Messiah being born in the place Scripture prophesied. As if all this prophecy of Jesus being the Messiah was not enough, Matthew gives even more. Three more to be precise, and those will be the focus of Sunday's sermon.
