A message from the series “Special Sermons.” Psalm 2:1-12 describes the futile rebellion of earthly nations and rulers who plot against God and His chosen “Anointed One” (the Messiah), seeking to break free from divine authority, but God laughs from heaven, asserting His sovereign rule and promising ultimate triumph for His King, who will rule the nations with iron strength, calling all to heed and find refuge in Him rather than face His wrath.

A message from the series “Special Sermons.” Roman soldiers brutally mocking Jesus, the “King of the Jews,” by dressing him in a scarlet robe, crowning him with thorns, and placing a reed scepter in his hand, all while kneeling and jeering “Hail, King of the Jews,” before spitting on him and striking him with the reed before leading him to crucifixion, a scene highlighting his profound humiliation and ironic kingship.

A message from the series “1 Thessalonians: The Expectant Church.” In 1 Thessalonians, God’s design for His church presents a vital, reciprocal relationship between shepherds (leaders) and sheep (congregation), emphasizing mutual honor, love, and responsibility, where leaders sacrificially care and guide (like Paul’s passionate example) while the sheep respect, esteem highly, and submit to their work, ensuring a healthy, peaceful body that reflects Christ’s own Good Shepherd care, fostering growth and protection for all.

A message from the series “1 Thessalonians: The Expectant Church.” In 1 Thessalonians, Paul reminds believers that the Day of the Lord comes unexpectedly, like a thief in the night, bringing sudden destruction to the unprepared world, but Christians, as “children of light,” must remain alert, sober, and prepared by wearing the armor of faith, love, and the hope of salvation, so they are not caught in darkness but await salvation through Christ, encouraging each other to build up in love as they anticipate His return.

A message from the series “Special Sermons.” Titus 2:11-14 reveals the trans-formative power of God’s grace, personified in Jesus Christ, who brought salvation and now trains believers to deny ungodliness and live self-controlled, righteous, and godly lives while awaiting His glorious return.

A message from the series “1 Thessalonians: The Expectant Church.” Paul emphasizes the “blessed hope” of Jesus’ appearing, a core teaching given during his short time there, promising believers that they, unlike those appointed to wrath, will be received by Christ in a glorious, trumpet-sounded event, uniting all believers with Him.

A message from the series “1 Thessalonians: The Expectant Church.” In 1 Thessalonians describes the “rapture,” or catching up of believers to meet Christ in the air, addressing the Thessalonians’ grief over deceased loved ones by assuring them that dead believers will rise first, followed by living saints, all to be with the Lord forever, offering comfort and a powerful hope for Christ’s imminent return, a key aspect of Christian eschatology.
